Baby Jaliyah's First Birthday | Stefanie Cole Photography | Stratford, CT Cake Smash Photographer

This shoot is extra special to me because Baby Jaliyah was my very first newborn that I photographed almost a year ago. It means the world to me that Mom and Dad chose to use me again for her first birthday cake smash session.  I am quickly learning that watching my little clients grow is the best part of this job.

Jaliyah was not even 5 lbs when I photographed her as a newborn, but she has grown into a big, strong little girl and she loved this cake!  It toppled over at the end, but that didn't slow her down.  We did our session at one of my favorite spots, Booth Memorial Park in Stratford, CT.  There were just a few blooms left that we were able to snag as the perfect backdrop for her cake smash!

Lucy's First Birthday Cake Smash | Stefanie Cole Photography | Trumbull, CT Children's Photographer

This post is a special one for a couple of reasons.  Lucy is one of my favorite little ladies, from one of my favorite little families.  Lucy was also my very first client EVER, nearly a year ago when she was only three weeks old.  We brought this year full circle by doing her first birthday cake smash together last weekend.

Jessica, from the Goose and Bear Fine Baked Goods, provided us with this beautiful naked cake which helped to bring our vision to life of a sweet and innocent, rustic, vintage set up (is that a thing? not sure, but it is now!).  Combine that with some adorable outfits, beautiful peach rosettes, and a real baby's breath crown made by Lucy's talented mom and this was a set up to die for.

Lucy didn't love having her pictures taken, but she sure did love her cake!  And any cake smash that ends with the baby throwing, yes throwing, the entire cake across the set I consider a success!

Happy birthday to Lucy!  And thank you to mom and dad for lending me your beautiful family all year to be my guinea pigs...couldn't have gotten this far without you!

CT One Year Cake Smash | Stefanie Cole Photography | Trumbull, CT Cake Smash Photographer

When I had my son, the thing I was told the most throughout my pregnancy was how fast it goes.  It is so cliche, but probably the truest thing I've ever been told.

It seems like just yesterday I was taking Owen's Six-Month Pictures in the gorgeous fall foliage, and here we are celebrating his first birthday with a cake smash photoshoot!  Owen rocked his session - although I have a sneaking suspicious he might have some practice being in front of the camera!  While a lot of babies are shy with their first taste of cake, Owen dove right in - feet and all.  This is definitely my kind of kid.  And as much as he loved chowing down, he loved clean up even more.

A very happy birthday to sweet Owen - I know your mommy and daddy love you very much, and I can't wait to see what this next year brings!

Newtown, CT Mommy and Me Session - Lily's Two!

This "Mommy and Me" session was just too adorable.  Lily got a little camera shy and didn't want to leave mom's shoulder, but we took advantage of the adorable snuggles and got some precious images!

Tutu Maria Children's Styled Photoshoot - Trumbull, CT

Tutu Maria is an amazing Etsy shop run by a local Connecticut mom is who quite talented.  The business is named after her beautiful daughter, who also happens to be the face of her brand.  I was so excited to collaborate on this stylized photoshoot to highlight the shop's exquisite full length grey tutu and headpieces.

Maria was such a good sport braving this cold, winter day!  We found some hidden gems in a local park that were still holding onto the colors of fall despite the approaching winter flurries.  She told me that she loves Elsa from Frozen and, well, I think she looks like a snow princess herself!

Baby Demos Turns One - Trumbull, CT One Year Photoshoot

Baby Demos is one of my favorite little guys, and I've been so honored to be a part of so many special occasions of his this year!  I of course was beyond excited when Mom asked me to do first birthday pictures as well as to photograph his first birthday party!
