Amie and Zac were such an absolute pleasure to work with for their engagement shoot.  They were super laid back, trusted me with whatever I asked them to do, and clearly could not get enough of each other.  But don't be fooled, a session this fantastic takes a lot of planning.  So many emails back and forth discussing what to wear, where to do it, and when...but it all pays off when you see the outcome!

When Amie told me they wanted a rustic farm location, I immediately thought of a venue I'd been dying to use.  Candlelight Farms Inn in New Milford, CT turned out to be the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous couple.  The weather was perfect on the day of our shoot, surprisingly sandwiched between two dreary rainy days.  The trees were in bloom, the breeze blew just right, and we had an amazing sunset that gave us the best buttery light to complement our gorgeous venue.

CT Rustic Winter Engagement Session | Stefanie Cole Photography | Trumbull, CT Engagement Photographer

This engagement session is just absolute perfection.  I've known Victoria for a long time...she was a player on the first varsity volleyball team I ever coached.  And now she is a beautiful young lady getting married, boy do I feel old!  I absolutely loved having the opportunity to catch up with her and to see her SO happy.  Vic and her fiance, Greg, could not stop giggling the entire session - which made my job easy!

The conditions for this session were everything I could ask for in an engagement session.  Victoria and Greg showed up looking great, the talented Kim Anderson had done Victoria's makeup, and we had a solid plan for the afternoon.  A huge part of what I do is scouting out unique locations that fit the style of the couple I'm photographing.  When Victoria gave me free reign over the creative aspects of this session, I was so excited to find some fun new places to fit their "rustic winter" theme.  Vic and Greg were such troopers, driving to three different locations in Brookfield and Newtown, and hiking all over creation to get to some amazing spots.  The weather was perfect - there was still snow on the ground, but it was unseasonably warm which gave us lots of time to play.

Rita and Jeffrey's Maternity Session - Stratford, CT

Rita reached out to me to book a newborn and maternity session over the summer, and I immediately knew where I wanted to do the maternity shoot.  I had found this hidden gem in Stratford, and had been waiting for the perfect shoot to use it.  I was so happy when she loved it too.

I was even more excited when she sent me a picture of the custom maternity gown she was having made.  Wow, I love nothing more than a brave mama-to-be.  It was the perfect combination for this beautiful spot and this gorgeous golden light.

Rita and Jeffrey were so full of love and excitement, and it was certainly contagious.  Little did I know, Jeffrey had his own surprise up his sleeve.   He shocked us all after asking for "just one more shot", and dropping down to one knee.  Well...I'll let the pictures do the talking.  What a beautiful moment, and I was so honored to be able to capture it!
